on self-destructive people.

They are easily overwhelmed, easily broken. They care way too much about the opinions of people who don’t matter. And if the lies come from people who do matter, they question their own judgments instead of other people’s motives. Self-destructive people have a penchant for finding similarly fucked up people, and then they group together and increase the level of hate they have fostered within themselves and towards others. They are happy because they are not alone, and yet they are unhappy because really, they are.

Others will see the signs for help, and will attempt to “be there for them” because they are inherently good. But who wants to be saved by someone who feels inclined to? Thank you for being there at the opportune moment, but no thanks. And many, many others will be annoyed by their behavior, saying that because it is self-induced, they are bringing it upon themselves.

But oh well. Let people be. Self-destructive people have mentally and physically put themselves in a harmful environment. They have withdrawn from the world and shut themselves off from reason. Therefore, your words and actions are useless. Their faith is placed in people who don’t care because like an abusive relationship, self-worth is misplaced.

But who are you to judge? To condemn?

The only reason damaged people are dangerous is because they know they can survive.
